Surena, perhaps you are right, that there are financial reasons that work in favor of a delayed PC release, but it evades me. Personally, I'd be more than happy to buy a collector's/bonus edition for PC right this second.
The conventional wisdom, as I see it, is a worldwide simultaneous release. That way all the hype and marketing can be focused on a single release date, rather than an extended effort. Also, if there's any negative reviews or bad sales news or hordes of let-down fans, that all comes after the huge initial sales push and the mitigation upon future sales is minimalized.
That's how I see it, though Rockstar knows what they are doing. I just know the GTA PC fanboys such as myself would prefer the more conventional model, and have money sitting in our wallets.

Meh, I'm gonna get it eventually, but not at launch or anything.
I've just really never been a fan. After playing GTA3, I figured out the game is mostly geared towards wiggers anyway.

I believe you, but you're in the minority. Piracy is a common hobby, encountered everywhere, it's like the second soccer (or football/basketball, depending on where you live). When I was at school, nobody bought anything, it was all copies, when I was studying (I didn't finish :P), nobody had originals. Now at work all my apprentices talk about is the latest warez release, even those that go home with 3000€+ a month (several got fired when it became evident they used resources for setting up warez servers). Not upon me to judge how to spend money but if students/apprentices leave 40€ a weekend's evening for drinks/cocktails/beer, then I don't really think they are in the position to claim a game would be too expensive.

Ideally yes, but the majority doesn't care about GTA reviews since the series never really failed to accomplish so it's pretty much a safe bet. Ongoing rumour speaks of 6 million preorders already, that's a pretty number you'll never get on the PC. A simultaneous release would mean cutting at least half of it for torrent sites/usenet/FXP etc.

There's strong appreciation for us spending our money, but it's not like our wallets could make up for the other numbers.
I guess (not trying to be too negative) the safest future for PC Gaming is based on MMOs.
